Joan Gibson Strange, 80 of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Thursday at the Columbus Hospice House. A graveside memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday November 15, 2014 at Parkhill Cemetery according to Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, AL. Rev. Ronnie Jordan will officiate.
Mrs. Strange was born May 5, 1934 in Bibb City, Georgia.; daughter of the late William Hershal Gibson and Dora Hunt Stanford. She was a retired seamstress and a member of Avalon Woods Baptist Church and the Adult Sunday School Class. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Strange and her sister, Sarah Cantelli
Survivors include her daughters, Sue Villarreal and husband Joe of Orange, CA, Judy Lynn Cook and husband Jimmy of Omaha, GA, brother, James Wallace Gibson of Virginia Beach, VA, grandchildren, Jo Leasa Laughlin of Smiths, AL, Shaun Jones of Omaha, GA, Casey Jones of Omaha, GA, David Villarreal of Orange, CA, Cyndi Urquijo of Colorado Springs, CO, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
