Rev. John William Knighton, 84 of Phenix City, Alabama died Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the Columbus Hospice House. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 18, 2016 at Edgewood Assembly of God Church in Columbus, Georgia according to Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City, AL.
Rev. Knighton was born April 30, 1930 in Phenix City, Alabama; son of the late Hiram Leroy and Mary Hearn Knighton. He is a retired minister with more than 40 years of service. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann West knighton.
He is survived by his daughters, Joy Holland (Benny) of Phenix City, AL, Gloria Wentland of Columbus, GA, sons, John L. Knighton and Paul William Knighton both of Phenix City, AL; brother, Thomas Knighton of Albany, GA and many other relatives and friends.
