Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, August 7, 2026 from 12:00pm until 1:00pm at Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City followed by a Celebration of Life Funeral Service in Lakewood Hall at 1:00pm. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens.
Chris was born December 24, 1955 in Columbus, Georgia; son of the late Joseph W. Hawkins and Jacqueline Hood Hawkins of Phenix City, Alabama. He graduated from Glenwood School with the class of 1974 and went on to attend Auburn University, where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega for fifty years. In his younger years he worked with Smith Artesian Well Company and afterwards worked in sales including Motor Max and Lowes. Chris was Baptist by faith and was an avid Auburn and Nascar fan.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Cy Hawkins and Inez Hawkins Windham, Jack and Ethel Mabry Hood, father, Joseph W. Hawkins, brother, Tony Hawkins, niece, Amber Gardner, aunt, Linda Rollo, cousin, Jeffery Rollo and former spouse, Debbie Hawkins.
Survivors include his mother, Jackie Hood Hawkins, sister-in-law, Wanda Hawkins, cousins, Pat Rollo & family, Kim Rollo & family and a special friend, Randy Smith & wife Lori.
Chris loved his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
