Kathryn Coleman Johnson, 94 of Phenix City, AL formerly of Commerce, GA died Friday January 3, 2014 at the Gentiva Hospice House in Columbus, GA. The family will receive friends Sunday January 5, 2014 from 12:00 pm until 2:00pm at Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, AL. Burial will be in Carnesville, GA at a later date.
Mrs. Johnson was born August 10, 1919 in Geneva, Alabama. She is the daughter of the late Andrew and Dora Strickland Coleman. She was retired from the Texaco Oil Company in Atlanta, GA. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kyle Johnson, nieces, Patsy Coleman Watson, and Betty Martin Bottoms.
Survivors include her sister, Pauline Coates, her special niece and caregiver, Sue Barbaree both of Phenix City, AL, nephew, Tony Coleman of Eufaula, AL, niece, Carol Land of LaGrange, GA, nephew, Emmitt Dixon of Geneva, AL, several great nieces, great nephews and other relatives and friends.
