Lillie Kate Bailey, age 91, resident of Smiths Station, Alabama and previous resident of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Parkwood Nursing Facility. Funeral services are scheduled at Lakewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, Alabama on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, 1p.m. with Pastor (Dr.) Randy Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 12 noon till 1 pm.
Mrs. Bailey, daughter of the late William Lucuis Robinson and Lena Jane Shellnut Robinson, was born April 11, 1927 in Franklin, Georgia. She was a homemaker and member of Rose Hill Church of Christ, Columbus, Georgia. Mrs. Bailey was a kind and generous woman who always wanted to help others. She loved her family, spending time gardening, cooking for her family and friends, and bird watching - especially the hummingbirds. Mrs. Bailey spent a lot of quality years with her husband. They would take day trips together and she would many times help him keep the highways clean of cans and trash.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Winton Bailey; a granddaughter, Brandi Michelle Tucker; a great-granddaughter, Sydney Shea Horton; a brother, Donald Robinson; and a sister, Mary Ruth Fomby.
She is survived by two daughters, Ann Chandler and her husband Charles of Stone Mountain, Georgia and Wynell Graham and her husband Billy of Smiths, Station, Alabama; one son, Terry E. Bailey and his wife Eloise of Sterrett, Alabama; one brother, William R. "Billy" Robinson of Hogansville, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Chris Chandler and his wife Denise, Kevin Chandler and his wife Teresa, Kimberly Boles, Jeremy Brett Graham, Brandon Bailey and his wife Teresa, Kerri Bailey Horton, Jade Goettle and her husband Andy, and Garon Matthew Bailey; eleven great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
