Louie Eugene Cameron, age 80 of Smiths Station, Alabama passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the Piedmont Columbus Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Lakewood Baptist Church with Pastor M.R. Hamilton and Dr. Jerry Horner officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City, AL. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Mr. Cameron was born April 29, 1940 in Phenix City, Alabama; son of the late Edmond Cameron and Alva Mae Helms Blake. He was a 1960 graduate of Central High School and was retired from Tom's Foods after 41 years of service. Gene Cameron loved his family and friends. He always had a positive attitude and made friends easily. He loved his Lord and supported his church, Lakewood Baptist and the Gideons. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Eddie and Quida Cameron. He is survived by his wife, Robbie Cook Cameron, children, David Cameron (Angela), Brian Cameron (Angelia), Brent Cameron (Michelle), brother, Jerry Cameron (Robbie), grandchildren, Breanna Cameron, Brooks Cameron, Dylan Coonley, Jackson Coonley, Blake Cameron, Briggs Cameron, Avery Cameron and Blake Johnson.
