Mamie Gibbs Lindsey, 95 of Phenix City, AL passed away Tuesday at the Columbus Hospice House. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. EDT Friday, May 11, 2018 in Lakewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Skip Speed officiating. A graveside service will be held 3:00 P.M. EDT in Cleburne Memorial Gardens in Ranburne, AL. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Lindsey was born February 22, 1923 in Cleburne County, Alabama; daughter of the late Dock D. Gibbs and Donie Langley Gibbs. She was a homemaker and later was employed with Lithokrome and was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Jackson Lindsey and her son, Gregory Gerald Lindsey.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Steve Tarno of Phenix City, AL, daughter-in-law, Sandra Lindsey Herrington, grandchildren, Robin Brannan (Bubba), Rachel Cochran (Austin) all of Enterprise, MS, Christopher Tarno (Brandy) of Smiths Station, AL, Shane Tarno (Heather) of St. Augustine, FL, sisters, Boyce Bonwit of Ranburne, AL, Angela Lovvern (Thomas) of Greenwood, SC; great grandchildren, Taylor Tarno, Brody Tarno, Tyler Tarno, Madison Tarno, Kaitlyn Tarno, Sarah Brannan, Kate Brannan, Marlee Brannan, Luke Cochran, Rhett Cochran, Drew Cochran and Colt Cochran.
Mamie was a Christian and had a personal relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed.
