Mary Beth Black

A visitation for family and friends for Mary will be held Monday, April 21, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary - Phenix City, 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867. Following the visitation for family and friends will be a celebration of life graveside funeral service at 12:00 PM at Lakeview Memory Gardens, 3800 Hwy 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867.

Serving as pallbearers will be Duane Lamb, Shiloh Spurlock, Casey Olson, Joshua Black, Brandon Merritt and Garth Brown.

Mary was born October 18, 1963 in Birmingham, Alabama; daughter of the late James W. Yarborough and Ruth Nations Yarborough. She had worked for many years with Canterbury Health Care and was a member of The Church of Columbus.

Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Patty Burton and her son, Jacob Black.

Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Edward Black, children, Jeffery Black (Alysha), Joshua Black, Anna Spraggins, brother, James S. Yarborough (Kelly), sister, Susan Yarborough (Celeste), grandchildren, Greyson Black, Lenna Spraggins, Lacey Spraggins and numerous other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
