Mrs. Carmichael was born September 7, 1931, daughter of the late Paul W. Ortlieb and Elsie Jane Forester Ortlieb. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Columbus, Indiana and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Keith L. Carmichael of Auburn, AL, son, Jeffrey Paul Johns and wife Diana of Auburn, AL, step-daughters, Barbara Carmichael of Columbus, IN, Julia Carmichael of Melcroft, PA, brother, John K. Ortlieb and wife Susie of Columbus, IN, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
