.Mary Jacqueline “Jackie” Russell, age 78, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Friday, February 26, 2021. A visitation for family and friends for Jackie will be held Monday, March 1, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby, 3770 Hwy 431 North, Phenix City, AL. Following the visitation for family and friends will be a Celebration of Jackie's Life at 2:00 PM.
Jackie was born February 22, 1943 in Houston County, AL to Eula Mae Jones Sellers and Norman L. Sellers. The family moved to Columbus, as did many families after WWII, seeking employment. Jackie attended Jordan Vocational High School and soon began her career as a Weaver, first at The Bibb Co. and later moving to Swift Textile. Jackie was a hard worker and took great care of her family. She loved her family and family gatherings, eating good southern cooking, watching old movies and loving on her fur baby Sugar. She taught her children many life lesson, and great work ethics. She loved to sit with her grandchildren, laugh and reminisce about the old days. Nanny will always be remembered for her acceptance of people and how much she shared her love.
Jackie’s father Norman L. Sellers, mother Eula Mae Jones Sellers; and sister Martha Jenkins preceded her in death. She is survived by daughter Jan Norrell (Steve); daughter Sissy Luttrell (Ray); son Todd Reardon (Daphne); and son Scott Russell (Brenda); brother Richard Sellers (Jackie), sister Lisa Goodwin and sister Lynn Sellers; grandchildren Abby, Hannah, Emmie, Jake, Haley, Kurt, Eva and Tyler and 8 great grandchildren; Sugar (her baby); nieces; nephews; other family members and many friends.
