January 3, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday,
January 8, 2022 at Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, AL. Private family burial
will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends
for visitation one hour prior to the service at 10:00 AM at the funeral
home. In honor of Mr. Parrish, the family requests everyone to dress
casually and feel free to wear your favorite Alabama gear.
Mr. Parrish was born August 17, 1945 in New Brockton, Alabama, son of
the late James Alcus Parrish and Katie Mae Taylor Parrish. He was a
self-employed builder for many years and operated Parrico Construction
Co. along with his brother, James. Later in his career, he became
maintenance supervisor at the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer where he
retired. He was an avid University of Alabama fan, loved golf, watching
sports, and enjoyed caretaking his property while riding his tractor. He
was a committed and loyal friend to all who knew him.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia
Miller (husband, Curtis of Phenix City, AL); and a brother, James K.
Parrish (wife, Sarah of Phenix City, AL).
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Patricia; three sons, Dennis
Parrish and wife, Lindy of Phenix City, AL, Barney Parrish and wife, Lisa
of Columbus, GA, and Robbie Parrish and wife, Katie of Tallahassee,
FL; two sisters, Jeri Mohn and husband Bill of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and
Kathy Fears of Phenix City; six grandchildren, Joshua Parrish, Reagan
Parrish, Riley Parrish, Reid Parrish, Kinley Parrish and Krysten
Burnham; 6 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
