Ollie Bea Bruner McKenzie

Ollie Bea McKenzie 95, Of Newnan, GA, formerly of Phenix City, AL, passed away at Wesley Woods of Newnan-Peachtree on Saturday, September 18, 2010. She was born in Malone, Florida on July 11, 1915. She married Robert Prather McKenzie on December 25, 1937 and was a devoted wife for 64 years until his death in 1991. Mrs. McKenzie was a loyal employee of H.L. Greene Company Department Store in Columbus, Georgia for approximately 40 years. A member of Central Baptist Church in Phenix City, Alabama, Mrs. McKenzie regularly attended Sunday School and Women's Missionary Union until she relocated to Wesley Woods in 2003. While living in Newnan, she enjoyed worshipping at the First Baptist Church. Mrs McKenzie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Prather McKenzie . She is survived by her sister-in-law, Ethel Bruner of Newnan, GA who lovingly cared for her for seven years until her death, a niece, Rita Bruner Brown of Senoia, GA and nephew Robert Owen Godwin of Melbourne, FL.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 20, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. EDT at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, AL. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, GA with Rev. Dexter James officiating. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Wesley Woods of Newnan-Peachtree City.
