Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, September 10, 2020, at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. until 9:45 A.M. at the funeral home prior to the service.
Mr. Ward was born February 4, 1925, in Coffee County, Alabama; son of the late Derrah and Mamie Turner Ward.
He served in the U.S. Army and retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving in WWII and awarded a Bronze Star. He later retired from Tom's Foods in Columbus, GA.
Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Ricky Ward, brothers, Parker, Roy, Jack, Harold, Braxton, and W.C. Ward along with his sisters, Lallie Stricklin, Annie V. Lee and Virginia Black.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Ellison) Ward, son, David Ward and wife, Kelly, step-daughter, Shelia Burditt, sister, Doris Sanders, and her late husband, Rex and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
