Owen "Buddy" Mancil, 67 of Phenix City, AL died Saturday, December 25, 2010. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 2:00 pm EST in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, AL, with Rev. Bobby Watford officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Mancil was born October 28, 1942 in Troy, Alabama, son of the late John E. and Ida Mae Mancil. He served in the US Airforce and was employed many years with Block Buster Video until his recent illness. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Survivors include his children, Lisa McLendon, Melissa Hiers (Sherman), sister, Frances Bowman all of Phenix City, AL, four grandchildren, Dakota, Virginia, Sherman, Jr., Stephanie, one great grandchild, Julian, special nephew, Larry W. Mancil, serveral nieces, nephews and other relatives. The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to the staff of the East Alabama Cancer Center.
