Paul Craig Padgett, 63 of Opelika, AL died Friday, June 17, 2011 at East Alabama Medical Center. Graveside services with military honors will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. EDT at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Rev. Danny Courtney officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, AL 36867.
Mr. Padgett was born April 6, 1948 in Yokohama, Japan, son of the late Bennie C. Padgett and Frances Pittman Padgett. He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Gayla Day Padgett of Opelika, AL, daughter, Leah Gorski and husband Michael of Charleston, SC, sister, Linda Hinman and husband Grady of Columbus, GA, brother, Bobby Padgett and wife Donna of Lagrange, GA, step-daughter, Amie Walsh of Columbus, GA, grandchildren, Lindsey Gorski, Tommy Gorski, Phoenix Walsh, nieces, Jennifer Hinman of Springfield, IL, Lauren Hinman of Columbus, GA and Olivia Padgett of Columbus, GA.
