Peggy Joyce Allen, 84 of Salem, Alabama died Tuesday May 23, 2017 at the Bethany House. Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 26, 2017 in the Girard Room at Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City with burial in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00pm until 2:00pm prior to the service.
Mrs. Allen was born July 4, 1932 in Coffee County, Alabama; daughter of the late J.C. Pope and Lucille Wolfe Pope. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Allen, Sr. brothers, Jerry Pope and Wendell Newman; sister, Mary DeWeese.
Survivors include her children, Charlotte Dowd (Mike), Clarence Allen Jr. (Edna), Shirley Johnston (Mike), Roger Allen (Susan), Danny Allen (Genevea), Cathy Young (Mike) and Cecelia Harrison; sisters, Linda Smith, Julia Brooks, Shirley Pope, Eleanor Price and brother, Larry Pope as well as 19 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren two great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
