Randy C. Branton

Randy Clifton Branton, 64, of Smiths Station, Alabama, died Friday February 3, 2012 . Funeral services will be held 2:00pm (EST) Monday February 6th in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Highway 431 N, Phenix City, AL., with the Reverend Roosevelt Oakes officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday (today) from 3pm until 5pm (EST) at the funeral home.

Mr. Branton was born November 2, 1947 in Dothan, Alabama, son of the late Hueston Branton and Willie Ruth Martin Branton. He was the owner of B & B Electric Co. in Columbus, GA. Mr. Branton was a member of the Silver Run Baptist Church and the Smiths Station Zoning Board of Adjustment. He was a Smiths Station Dixie Youth League baseball coach for more than 15 years and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Branton was loving husband, father,brother, grandfather and great grandfather who will be missed by all who knew him. Other than his parents Mr. Branton is preceded in death by his grandson, Cody Ryan Scott.

Survivors include his wife of more than 30 years, Shelby Bryant Branton of Smiths Station, his children and their spouses, Benjamin Tyler and Sheri Branton, Christy Michelle Scott, Michael Alan Branton, Benjamin Irby and Catrina Branton, Bryan Randall and Kim Branton, sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and Tom Benedetti, Carol Elizabeth and J.D.
