She was born in Clarksville, TN to the late Harvey Carrigan and Mattie Pearl Echols. She worked with Teen Challenge, and from this, founded the Bethany House for women in 2004. Ms. Draper was a member of the Lee County Republican Club, and the Bleeker Ruritan Club of Salem, AL.
Ms. Draper is survived by her daughters, Tonya Bourassa of Cookeville, TN, Carrie Dowell of Lizella, GA, and Nicole Draper of Macon, GA; sons, Lane Ivy of Salem, AL and David Draper of Lizella, GA. One surviving sister is Yvonne Seacrist of Valdosta, GA. Ms. Draper has six grandchildren - Heather Randle, Kaitlyn Bourassa, Michaela Greenall, Kirk Ivy, Carlaina Cape and MaeLynn Dowell. She has seven great-grandchildren – Brianna Randle, Teagan Ortiz, Kai Ivy, Izabela Ivy, Emersyn Ivy, Clark Cape and Kinslee Cape.
The wake will be held from 6:00-8:00pm Friday, March 14th at Striffler-Hamby Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL. The funeral will also be held at Striffler-Hamby on Saturday, March 15th at 2:00pm. The gravesite service will be 11:00am on Monday, March 17th at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, AL. The Reverend Larry Biggers will be officiating over the funeral and gravesite service with Dr. Michael Carrigan giving a eulogy at the funeral service.
