Eric pursued learning with purpose and discipline, earning a Juris Doctorate from Mississippi College School of Law, a Masters degree from Luther Rice Seminary, and a Doctorate degree in theology from Slidell Baptist Seminary in Louisiana. His life reflected a steady devotion to both calling and conviction, shaped by faith and guided by a deep desire to serve others well.
On March 16, 2009, Eric opened Cross Law Firm, a milestone that marked his commitment to his profession and to the people who depended on his counsel. He was a member of Cascade Hills Church, the Rotary Club of Columbus, the Columbus Bar Association, and the Russell County Bar Association—communities where his presence spoke of responsibility, consistency, and a sincere investment in the lives around him.
Above all, Eric loved the Lord with all of his heart and wanted everyone to know the gospel. That enduring devotion stood at the center of his life and remains a lasting part of the legacy he leaves behind.
Eric is survived by his wife Rachael Cross; his son Harrison Cross; his daughter Brinnley Cross; his sisters America Cross (William Carswell), Mary Allison Cross (Steven Valkanas), and Lauren Cross-Whatley (Tom Whatley); his mother in law Marilyn Tripp (Perry Tripp); his brother in law Christopher Jordan (Brittany Jordan); and many nieces and nephews.
