

Born on November 2, 1951 in Fort Benning GA, he was the son of the late Perry Lunsford Odom and Hazel Lindsey Odom. Rodney retired from Georgia Power Company with 44 years of service, lastly as a Local Manager. He was also a Mason, avid fisherman, and a member of Christ Church of Hartwell. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He was a friend to many and loved to help others.
Survivors include his wife: Jane Cross Odom; one son: Rodney Darrell Odom (Sally) of Smith Station AL; one daughter: Kimberly O. Norton (Chad) of Hartwell GA; one sister: Ronda Broadwater (Doug) of Phenix City AL; two grandchildren: Jake Sanders (Lauren) and Jordan Sanders. A brother-in-law: Glenn Cross (Joan). Step family: Jonathon Dozier (Rhonda), Christopher Deal (Kaylen), Joanie Dozier, Trysten, Mason, Jensen, Clayton, Dalton, Kinsleigh. He had many nieces and nephews who he loved and cherished.
Rodney was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Robert Lee Odom and one sister: Renee` O. George.
The family will receive friends Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.
Funeral services for Mr. Rodney Odom will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 US 431, Phenix City AL with visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. following the service. There will be a private burial at Lakeview Memory Gardens, Phenix City, AL.
