

Scott Lee Harwood, 49 of Phenix City, Alabama died Monday, May 2, 2016 at his home. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Friday May 6, 206 at the First United Methodist Church in Phenix City with Rev. Ralph Wooten officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mr. Harwood was born March 12, 1967 in Asheville, North Carolina; son of the late Robert Vester Harwood and Virginia Carlotta West Harwood of Candler, North Carolina. He was employed with Masterbuilt, served in the US Army and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was an avid fisherman and loved golf. Other than his father, he was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Emma and Aiden.
Survivors include his mother Virginia Carlotta Harwood, his wife of 28 years, Dixie Harwood of Phenix City, AL, daughters, Amanda Hamrick (Jonathan) of Smiths, AL, Brooke Robinson (Jason) of Hawaii, son, Clay Harwood of Phenix City, AL, father, Carl Maynor (Sharon) of Gadsden, AL, sisters, Robin Evans of Candler, NC, Carla Rickman of Asheville, NC, aunt, Louise Blackwell of Asheville, NC, uncle, Larry and Amanda Harwood of Asheville, AL, grandchildren, Grace, James, Ben, Ryan and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
