went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 31,2026 surrounded by her loving family.
Born on November 7, 1952 in Phenix City, Wanda was the cherished daughter of James Clyde and Willadean Kelly Culpepper. She walked faithfully in her purpose, sharing Christ’s love during her 40 years as a nurse and in her everyday life. She retired from Russell County Health Department.
Wanda’s life was a testament to her deep faith and devotion to God. She found great joy in giving to various charities and volunteering with Sound Choices Pregnancy Clinic. Her life reflected the fruits of her generosity and kindness. Her family and friends will forever remember her prayers, her gentle spirit, and the unwavering faith she anchored in her home. Though we grieve her passing, we find comfort in knowing she has received her crown of righteousness and is resting eternally in the presence of God.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Shane Suggs along with her granddaughters, Grace (Matthew) Willis and Eden (Jacob) Presson. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Willadean, and her brother, Amos Eugene “Gene” Culpepper.
A service celebrating Wanda’s life and faith will be held on Friday, November 6th at 11 AM in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in Phenix City, AL with Reverend Josh Bennett officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 5th from 5-7 PM at the same location.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
