William Ray Shelley

William Ray "Bill" Shelley, 69 of Phenix City, AL passed away Monday, November 10, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be held 3:00pm Thursday, November 13, 2014 in Lakewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Ricky Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home. Serving as pall bearers are Mike Shelley, Donnie Shelley, Eddie Keeter, Jerry Price, Jeff Walker, Christopher Carroll and Vern Hulme.

Mr. Shelley was born August 16, 1945 in Fort Benning, Georgia; son of the late Charles William Shelley and Ann Shelley Lunsford of Phenix City, AL. He served in the Army National Guard and was retired after many years of service with Sunbelt Electric Company. Other than his father, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Walker Shelley and daughter, Michelle Shelley Hartley.

Survivors include his mother, Ann Lunsford, daughter, Monica Dunlap (David) of Wilson, NC, grandson, Griffin Dunlap of Wilson, NC, granddaughter, Ashley Hartley of Phenix City, AL, sisters, Barbara Shelley Price (Jerry) of Phenix City, AL, Deborah Shelley Brazell (Preston) of Opelika, AL, brothers, Donnie Shelley (Terri) of Jacksonville, FL, Mike Shelley of Phenix City, AL, the Walker and the Cornelius families, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
