Wilma Inez Horton Bartee, 84, of Smiths Station, Alabama passed away December 20, 2021 at her daughter's house. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 23, 2021 in Lakewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City with Pastor David Kees officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bartee was born in Blount County, Alabama to Orben J. Horton and Vera Crow Horton. She retired from Leshner Corporation. She was a member of Smiths Station Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed being with her granddaughters and working in her yard.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Bartee, brothers, Ermon Horton (Ann), Steve Horton and sister, Betty Azell Bartee (Jack).
She is survived by children, Debra Cook (Jack), Brenda Hudson (Mark), grandchildren, Jessica Coleman (Charlie), Jenny Hudson, great granddaughter, Caitlynn Coleman, sister-in-law, Pam Horton and numerous nieces an nephews.
