Albina L. Flores, “Nana Bina”, our loving and caring Mama and Nana was born in Durango, Mexico but lived in Arizona for more than 55 years. Although our mother only had a second grade education, she has been a role model for all of us. Looking in the Bible about the ideal woman in Proverbs 31, we quickly see the similarities to Mom: she takes care of her household, she does not eat the bread of idleness, her children call her blessed, she is worth more than rubies, she bought and sold goods, she gave freely to those in need, she made sure all were well fed. “Nana Bina” had a compassionate heart and was always giving or “lending” money to those in need. All her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew where to go for help. She offered excellent advice and never judged. She was a dynamic prayer warrior who never tired of loving and caring. “Nana Bina” was also a cook above all cooks. Yum! She’d cook up a storm in minutes for anyone who showed up at her house and no one left without receiving her special blessing. Mom was clothed in strength and dignity. She never tired. Truly a Proverbs 31 woman. We will all miss her tremendously, but have learned so much from this amazing, loving, never tiring woman of God.

“Her children arise and call her blessed” Proverbs 31:28
