Alois Augeneder entered into eternal rest on December 26, 2016 surrounded by loved ones at home. At 89 years old, he left behind a lifetime of memories and a beautiful legacy through his three daughters, Ingeborg, Karin, and Linda. Alois was born in Austria where he lived with his parents and five siblings, surviving harsh conditions as a boy and as a soldier. After marrying Stephanie and having a daughter, he brought his family to America for a better life, settling in Michigan, having two more daughters, then heading west to Arizona. He worked as a Tool and Die maker for many years, learning his craft in Austria, eventually retiring from Motorola. Life was filled with family, food, and laughter, as well as vacations, whether by 1972 VW Van up the West coast, or appreciating cruises throughout the world. Alois and Stephanie made numerous trips back to Europe to visit family, as well as building lifetime friendships in Arizona. Alois loved his children and grandchildren very much, extending his family ten years ago to include his loving companion, Claire Zwickl. Alois and Claire have filled their years together with love, laughter, travel, and most of all, enjoying their combined families. Alois, we will miss your humor, your smile, your voice, your discussions, your love. Simply put, we will miss you. In lieu of flowers, we encourage donations made to Hospice of the Valley.
