

Alonzo Claude Brown was born on July 7, 1950, in Carthage, Texas, to Eugene and Claudie Brown. He grew up in Banning, California, where he attended high school and excelled in football and basketball. His athletic talent earned him a scholarship to Washington State University.
After college, Alonzo traveled with a band as a musician before settling in Seattle, Washington, where he met and married Jacque Frazier. Together, they built a loving family and later relocated to Chandler, Arizona, to be closer to relatives.
Alonzo was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He loved reading, fishing, watching sports, and playing golf. Known for his warm smile and welcoming nature, he never met a stranger and always cherished time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Claudie Brown; his wife, Jacque Brown; and his granddaughter, Laniyah Brown. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Lori of Banning and Jelani (Denice) of Phoenix; five grandchildren, Kristina, Alyssa, Maliyah, Brianna, and Janeiro; two great-grandchildren, Sofia and Braylen; siblings, Dickie (Linda) of Mesa, Tommie of Banning, and Gail (James) of Monrovia; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Alonzo’s legacy of love, kindness, and family devotion will continue to live on in all who knew him.
A visitation will be held at Resthaven / Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens, located at 4310 East Southern Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85042, on September 27, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with a funeral service to follow from 11:00 am to 12:00pm.
A graveside service will take place at Resthaven/Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm, with a catered reception to follow.
