Bartolo Angel Villalba Jr.

Bart Angel Villalba Jr., a cherished father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on August 15, 2024. He was born on March 3, 1960, in Tempe, Arizona.

Bart’s life was marked by his dedication to his family and his work. A skilled semi-truck driver, construction worker, and welder, he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his craft. Bart had a deep love for the outdoors, finding joy in hunting, camping, and fishing. His passion for cooking and his hearty sense of humor brought laughter and joy to all who knew him.

In his younger years, Bart was actively involved in sports and community activities. He played baseball for the South Mountain East program in Phoenix from the age of 8 to 16 and was a proud member of his grade school marching band. Beyond sports, Bart dedicated his time to volunteering at local schools, reflecting his generous spirit and commitment to helping others.

Bart leaves behind his beloved children, Simoneque and Pablo. He was preceded in death by his children, Maurissa, and Bart Jr. He is also survived by his mother, Flora Villalba; his siblings, sister Gloria Romero and brother Tim Villalba; his sister in-law Marylou Villalba, his brother-in-law, Rudy Contreras; and his grandchildren, Jimmy, Anissa, and Domonique, Saliyah, Salene, Sophia. Bart is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Sylvia, Juno, Santos, Sarah, Monica, Veronica, Jessica, Timmy, Thomas, Gabriel, Joe, Jesse and great grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Contreras, and his father, Bart Villalba Sr.

A memorial service to celebrate Bart’s life will be held at Resthaven/Carr-Tenney Chapel, 43 10 E Southern Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85042, on August 30, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor his memory and share in the stories and laughter that defined his life. A Mass will be held on Saturday, August 3 1, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Basilica, 23 1 N 3rd St, Phoenix, AZ 85004, with burial to follow at Resthaven/Carr-Tenney Cemetery.
