Dan was born on December 20, 1957, in Poughkeepsie, New York, to C.R. and Ruth Ann Holleran and passed away on March 10, 2025, at the age of 67 surrounded by his loving family. He grew up in Saratoga, California, where he graduated from Saratoga High School and later attended DeAnza College.
In 1982, Dan moved to Novato, California, where he met and fell in love with Joanne Coppini. Dan and Joanne were married in Ferndale, California, in 1983. Together they raised two sons, Garret and Morgan.
In 1997, Dan and family relocated from the Seattle area to Phoenix, Arizona. He and Joanne spent most weekends travelling near and far to attend their boys’ sporting events. So many great memories and great friendships were formed during this time.
Dan’s entire career was spent in the food service industry; first in operations and then in finance. He completed his career as a Regional Finance Director with Aramark, retiring after 28 years in December 2023. Dan gained many lifelong friends during his time with Aramark and continued to keep in touch over the years as colleagues would come and go.
Family was at the heart of Dan’s world. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Joanne; children Garret (Mindy) Holleran and Morgan (Heather) Holleran; grandchildren Maci Jo, Cole Robert and Abby Jane Holleran; brothers John (Debbie) Holleran and Robert (Nancy) Holleran and sister Mary Ann (Mark) Escobar; his very special mother in law Joyce Coppini; brothers in law Jim (Becky) Coppini, Joe Coppini and sister in law Janet Coppini. Dan also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who he adored. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents C.R. and Ruth Ann Holleran and his father in law Elvin Coppini.
Dan was an avid sports fan. He was a lifelong 49er fan and an Arizona Diamondbacks fan since its inception in 1998. His presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory bring comfort to the many who loved him.
