Esabra R. Martinez "Rosa"

88, born in Peoria, AZ on November 24, 1924 entered into eternal rest on February 8, 2013. Rosa loved animals and enjoyed riding her horse Chapusera while her dog Paco trailed behind them. She worked for the city of Phoenix as a cook and especially loved cooking for her family and friends. She was a volunteer chaplain for the Phoenix hospital and the homebound and she also helped in distributing food to the needy. Rosa, glided into heaven preceded in death by her first love; John Benitiz and by her second love; Jose Martinez. Rosa is also preceded in death by her son; Ignacio Nido Jr. She is survived by her sisters; Alicia Benavidez and Louisa Vasquez, by her children; Cecilia Carrillo (Mike), William Nido (Patricia), Socorro Schad (Tom), and Ernie Nido (Maria). Rosa is also survived by; 13 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and by 3 great great grandchildren. Rosa was loved by her family and by most people she knew and met. A visitation and funeral service will be held on Monday, February 18, 2013 at Resthaven Park Mortuary, 4310 E. Southern Ave. in Phoenix, AZ. Rosa's visitation will be from 10:00am to 11:00am, with her funeral serivce and interment to follow, beginning at 11:00am.
