Frederick Arthur Handy

Born February 27, 1924 in Los Angles, CA

Died in Chandler, Jan 30, 2024 AZ at the age of 99

Married to Jocelyn M. (Landmesser) Handy for over

80 years and this lady is the love of his life.

Fred has a sister Shirley Macomber

Fred and Jocelyn have three children

There are 4 grandchildren and 12 great

grandchildren

Fred was a World War II veteran and served in the

Coast Guard on USS Gallup in the South Pacific and

Aleutian Islands during the war as a Signal Man

Second Class. He was extremely proud of his

service to the Country.

Fred was an active member of American Legion

Post 2 in Tempe, AZ serving in several capacities

and volunteer areas.

Fred’s employment years were spent in the printing

industry in multiple areas as well as having his own

printing company. He continued as a consultant in

this area until age 97.

Fred and his wife Jocelyn volunteered for many

years for the Tempe Police Department.

Fred and Jocelyn were active members of the

Contempo Tempe Social Club where they lived for

over 40 years.

veterans organization.

A special thank you to the Phoenix area Veteran’s

Hospital and all the wonderful affiliated people who

helped Fred through the past few years.

Also a special thank you to Assisteo Health who

assisted by Fred’s side in his last days.
