Gary David Howard

Gary D. Howard passed away peacefully in his sleep Sunday, September 19, 2021, one month and a few days prior to celebrating his 80th birthday. Gary ‘s survivors include Shirley, Dean, Naomi, Carl, Deborah, Judith Howard Ballard, Marian Howard Gill, seven grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren.

Gary retired from Honeywell International which ended his thirty-five plus year career working for the company including its predecessors Allied Signal, Inc., Garrett Air Research, and Western Electric. Gary’s family and friends knew him for his generosity, quick wit, love and care for family, and his mechanical and building abilities. Gary always had a solution and was quick to offer a hand and expertise, to family members needing help rebuilding or fixing a car, motorcycle, or trailer. Over the years, Gary remodeled his home to double in size. Gary also loved to travel and in later years enjoyed discussing ancestry of the Howard family and his grandmother Evelyn’s family.

Sadly, we say goodbye, but we know Gary is no doubt sharing a joke, a story, or how to fix it advice from heaven.

A funeral service for Gary will be held Tuesday, October 5, 2021, 11:30 at Resthaven / Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens, 4310 East Southern Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85042. Services will also occur at the Howard residence at 10am, this will be followed by the graveside service.
