OBITUARY

Genevieve Tapia

June 9, 1920July 30, 2018

Genevieve Tapia passed away July 30, 2018.

Genevieve was born June 9, 1920 in Flagstaff, Arizona to Cornelio and Petra Gallegos. Genevieve was an Arizona Pioneer, having lived her entire 98 years in the beautiful State of Arizona.

Genevieve was married to Manuel F. Tapia on August 28, 1948. Together, they celebrated 63 years of marriage until his death on July 12, 2012.

Genevieve is survived by her children, Ernie (Jean) Palladini of Tucson, Arizona; Linda (Ray) Razo of Prescott Valley, Arizona; Eddie (Estella) Tapia of Phoenix; Dolores (Rex) Davis of Phoenix; Manuel (Margie) Tapia of Phoenix, David Tapia of Phoenix; her youngest son Anthony Tapia who cared for her day and night the past 6 years; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and her beloved dog, Bonnie.

Genevieve is also survived by her sister Erlinda Gallegos of Phoenix, Arizona and her brother Joe (Angie) Gallegos of Camp Verde, Arizona and several nephews and nieces and countless friends that became part of the family.

Genevieve lived a long, beautiful and rewarding life. She enjoyed camping and fishing. Genevieve had the greatest memory and knew everyone’s birthday, anniversary and phone number without having to look them up. If you ever needed to know someone’s birth date, all you had to do was call her up to ask her. She told great stories of her younger years, being married to her husband of nearly 64 years. She was always smiling and always posed for a picture, often throwing up a peace sign. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends forever. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother great-great grandmother and friend to all.

Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Nana,

I sure thought you were going to live forever. What a blessed fulfilled life. I can only hope I would live a long life like you. Sedona and Samuel say they love you and they are happy to know their great grandmother and thankful you always showed them so much love. May you rest with our heavenly father Jesus Christ. I cant wait to see you again in heaven.

My beautiful Grandma, I will miss you forever and ever. I will miss holding your hand and you giving me kisses. Everyday we spent together was a beautiful blessing. My heart is heavy and broken knowing I wont hear your voice anymore. I know that your rejoicing with our heavenly father restored and renewed. Grandma never stop sending me kisses from heaven. I love you deeply.
