Gregg Anthony Garibay, 36, died at home in Phoenix, Arizona on Sunday, December 13th, 2020. Gregg lived to love life. He was a foodie, a film aficionado, a beer master, a music expert, a history buff, a traveler, but most of all, a lover. He lived to love the honest being in every person he encountered. From a random bar patron he offered to give a ride home, to childhood friends who became brothers, every person Gregg met was touched with his radiance. His intimidating size and appearance melted away as soon as he smiled, welcoming you to raise a pint and lending his ear.
Gregg’s love of people became his career when he co-founded Psylogia Institute of Consciousness Evolution, a non-profit dedicated to the development of consciousness, purpose, and transformation. He became a trainer, facilitator, and Master Coach; also leading several men’s groups which were dedicated to cultivating healthy masculine virtues. Gregg was one of the rare people who saw pain in the world and gave everything he had to heal it.
To his family, Gregg will always be a goofy teddy bear who loved to tease and be teased. While strongly willed and opinionated, he showed his love in unexpected ways, like planning Camp Mogollon for a yearly family cabin weekend. He’d melt especially in the presence of his nephews, yelling their nicknames he made up, then tossing them lovingly while he giggled along with them.
Gregg loved to have fun. Nothing made him giddy like donning a costume (pirate, Viking, tacky Hawaiian shirts), partaking in strong drink, and getting loud and silly. Gregg was never afraid to be himself, and for that he was loved by so many.
Gregg is survived by his parents Anthony and Christine Garibay, older sister Angie Garibay, younger sisters Teresa (Daniel) Clarella and Elisa (Daabid) Schellenberg, nephews Zenoc and Atliano Schellenberg, niece-to-be Aaryel Schellenberg, grandma Juana Garibay, and so many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, colleagues, clients, and acquaintances who became family.
