Henry Hernandez

Henry was born on December 30, 1948 to Amelia C. Espinoza and Cecilio E. Hernandez in San Mateo, California. He met and married Rose Angela Hennicker ( Blue, Doll, Dulce) on November 13, 1971 and according to

him it was love at first sight for her, Rosie. HeHeHe!!! They had three kids, Henry George (Hanky) Jr., born February 12, 1973, Brandy Michelle (Princess) born March 3, 1976, and Steven Jesse (Tee, T-bone, Soldier, Huevo) born August 25, 1977.

He was a pipefitter by trade, little league baseball coach, and soccer coach for boys and girls. He retired from CelWave in 2004 and was on Social Security because of back problems. He loved going to the casinos here in Phoenix and also in Laughlin with the love of his life and family friends Rita and Henry Herrera. His favorite program was Family Feud with Steve Harvey. He loved yelling at the ridiculous people on T.V as if they can here him. He loved drinking at the family picnics, birthday parties, and get togethers and spending time with his grandkids. Drunk or sober he made sure they all got home from school. Speaking of the grandkids, here they come:

Hanky and Elaine Leon had Henry Joseph ( The Bird) on February 25, 1998. Then Hanky and Veronica Rodriguez-Hernandez married and we welcomed Vero and Sarena (Sari) into our familia. Sari was born on March 16, 2004 and Rosie and Hank were proud grandparents to a second granddaughter.

Brandy and Carlos Valenzuela were blessed with Rosie and Hanks first grandchild, Dominique Cody ( Lil Princess) on August 6, 1994. Carlos Henry ( Bubba, Litos, LeLondies) was born on October 23, 1995, and Noah Steven Michael ( Pookie, Pook-A-Luke, Pookie-fied) was born on July 31, 2004.

Emory Dooyen and Brandy Hernandez are now proud parents of Jeromy Nicholas ( WildBoy, Here I am, Daddy) born on March 16, 2009. Branden Henry Robert ( Brando, Jaylen, Dooyen-Dooyen, O Dooyen Rules) is still cooking possibly due in early May 2012.

Tee and Angelica Carrillo welcomed their first bundle of joy, Royal Steven Gabriel ( Butter, The Beastmaster) born on December 26, 1996. Then Isaiah Levi Jeriah ( Onthees, Beastmaster II, ZayZay, Zaiah) was born September 21, 2003.

Big Hank had 4 sisters. Lupita Denogean (Eddie), Rose Tameron (Richard), Terry Guzman (Manny), and Marlene Cancino. Mother-in-law is Jovita ( Mi Jennies, Big Gram) Hennicker. Brother-in-law, Modesto ( Mollo Pollo) Torrez and (Linda Blue). His sister-in-laws are Carmen Tarango ( Adam), Pam Hernandez ( Charles), Terry Heemstra (Mark), Margie Calder (Bob), and Cynthia Hennicker ( Renee). Godchildren are Joe Torrez, Monica Herrera, Christina Nunez, Kimberly Cornejo, Christopher Dominguez, Phillip Montanez, and Frank ( Dat u Bubba) Martinez.

Here are a few of his nicknames: Send os, Hendry-The-Mexican-Bugs-Bunny, Tio Otis, Gordo, Gordo-Boy, Hanky-poo, Tata, Tata-Puppy, Hatonee (meaning chief), El Guapo, The Hank, Big Hank, Hammerin Hank, and Hunk-o-hunk of Burning Luv. We are trying to make this short, but sweet, which is hard because we all have lots of stories and memories of this wonderful, loving man, but again, please post your stories, memories, pictures, or messages on this website and keep his memory and legacy going for all eternity. We wish to thank each and every one of you for all of your love and support and helping us cope with this difficult loss. We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful family and friends.
