Jalen Akeem Huckaby-Henry

Jalen Akeem Huckaby-Henry was born on July 10, 2000 in Phoenix, Arizona to Paul Henry and Warenell Huckaby; he entered into eternal rest on July 6, 2013. He was one of 5 children born to Paul Henry and one of 4 children born to Warenell Huckaby. He attended Cloves C. Campbell Sr. Elementary School and Centennial Middle School where he excelled in academics and had aspirations to become a lawyer. Jalen had many loves, one of which was basketball, but his two greatest loves were Jesus and all of his family. Jalen was a child bursting with unrelenting love, anyone who came in contact with him would experience that love with a great big “bear hug”. He always had a hug, and an “I love you” for his family, a big smile, and a laugh so infectious that you couldn’t help but laugh too. Jalen was very wise beyond his 12 years on this earth. He was so thankful for every blessing bestowed upon him, and he showed it every day. Jalen was christened in the name of our Lord in December of 2000, and later baptized at Gesthsemane Garden of Prayer. Jalen had a heart of gold, and an unforgettable presence about him. Once you met him, you knew he was very special. For the very short time he was on this earth he impacted many lives, and many will always love and miss him!

Jalen is survived by his father Paul Henry, (stepmom Tonya Henry), his mother Warenell Huckaby, sisters Tanisha and Kiandra Moore-Henry, Jarenell Rodriguez-Huckaby, brothers Khaleb and Seth Henry, Jeremiah Huckaby, Terrance Nelson, and stepbrothers Aaron and Ahmani Gordon. Grandmothers Sally Huckaby and Meredith Henry, Grandfathers James Hodge, George Henry, and Step Grandfather Bobby Coleman, Great Grandfather John Brown, Great Grandmothers Orzola Henry and Corine Hodge. Godparents Gary and Annette Brown. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of caring friends.

Jalen is preceded in death by his Great Grandmothers Christine Brown and Warenell Brown, as well as his Great Grandfathers George N. Henry and Cecil Brown.
