James Elmer Brooks Sr., born on November 12, 1943, in Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on February 7, 2026, at the age of 82.

A visitation will be held at Resthaven / Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens, located at 4310 East Southern Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85042, on February 26, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at the same venue on February 27, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm, followed by a graveside service from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.

Honorary pallbearers are; James Brooks Jr., Marvin Brooks, Joshua Brooks Sr., Elrey Brooks Jr., Lumont Dortch, John Wesley Jr., Eric Johnson, and Larry Jones. Active pallbearers are Marcus Brooks, Yul Young Jr., Elrey Jr. III, Joshua Brooks Jr., Alan Brooks, and Robert Brooks Jr.
