Reverend Jesse Dale Byrne, 92, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on July 19, 2015. Jesse was a minister of the gospel for over 60 years working as a Senior Pastor at Willis Assembly of God in Willis, Texas Oak Forrest Assembly of God in Houston Texas, and Charity Assembly of God in Laveen, Arizona. He is affiliated with the Texas and Arizona District Councils Assembly of God.
During World War II, Jesse worked in the Shipyards in Alabama, Louisiana, and Texas. Following that, he was a machinist at Childress Air Force Base in Texas and Los Alamos, New Mexico (during the development of the Atomic Bomb).
Throughout his life Jesse was also a Journeyman Painter. He painted until his early 80's.
He is predeceased by his sons Roy Dale Byrne and Ronald Nolan Byrne, father Gus Blacknell Byrne, mother Ermond Edmond Lacy, brothers Joseph Harold Byrne, Billy James Byrne, Paul Thomas Byrne, and sister Wanda Maureen Spann.
Jesse is survived by his best friend and love of his life for 74 years, wife Minerva Eva Gabler Byrne, daughters Patricia Kay Hogan and Brenda Fay McCullough, son-in-law Robbie Lee McCullough, daughter-in-law Linda Faye Byrne, sisters Marjorie Lois Kirkland, Marie Louise Garrett, Juanita Ann Cook, brother Charles Edward Byrne, 16 grandchildren Shawn Byrne, Lenora Coukoulis, Ronda Bowman, Jana Eickenhorst, Tess Morgan, Kenney Hogan, Tanya DeGeest, Lonnie Hogan, Dale Hogan, Barbara Moore, Lisa Hernandez, Cheryl Hogan, Jesse Hogan, David Newson, Kady Newson, and Kyle Newson, 36 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 24, 2015 from 6:00-8:00pm, and Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 11:00am at Resthaven/Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens, 4310 East Southern Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona. Arrangements entrusted to Resthaven/Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens.
