

Johnathan Robert Blyler, 41 of Phoenix, Arizona passed away March 12, 2016. He was born July 3, 1974, in Cleveland, Ohio. John graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Management in 1999 and a Master of Public Administration in 2004 and he was to complete his Master of Education from Grand Canyon University in May 2016. He loved learning and had a passion for teaching youth; John was a Student Teacher for the Paradise Valley Unified School District, Palomino Intermediate School and was proud to be selected as one of the Rodel Foundation of Arizona’s Promising Student Teachers for Spring 2016.
John loved the outdoors, especially the lower Sonoran Desert where he became an expert in its flora and fauna. A lifetime Boy Scouter, he was a Woodbadge recipient and Project COPE Committee Chair with the Boy Scouts of America, Grand Canyon Council. He was also affiliated with Venturing Crew 4929 in Twinsburg, Ohio. John was a proud lifetime member of the Arizona State University Alumni Association and never missed an opportunity to cheer on his Sun Devils.
John leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Lisa Blyler; mother Zandra Mannion; brothers Jason Blyler (Cassandra) and William Mannion; mother-in-law Christine Miller; father-in-law John Miller (Linda); brother-in-laws Kevin Miller (Janet) and Kenneth Miller (Blair). He is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephews Kayla, Kristen and Alexander Blyler; Rebecca Mannion; Burke and Kendra Miller; Jacob Miller; and special friends Arturo and Menchie Martinez; Gregory and Allyson Secord (Brent and Taylor).
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 26, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Resthaven/Carr-Tenney Mortuary and Memorial Gardens, 4310 East Southern Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85042.
