Joseph Saucedo Corona

It is with heavy hearts that we are announcing the peaceful passing of Joseph S. Corona on July 14, 2026, who was met at the Pearly Gates by his wife Rosemary Corona, daughter Esperanza Corona, and grandson Joseph Barrey. Joseph Corona was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Joseph was born in 1942 in a small town on the Corona family’s ranch located in Grants, New Mexico. He grew up there for a couple of years and then the Coronas moved to Arizona where he met the love of his life, Rosemary Ontiveros, in the third grade. They were married in 1960 and were married for 63 years.

Joseph had many passions such as cooking. Of all the jobs he held he would speak mostly about his time at Hobo Joe’s and Durants. He started as a bus boy, moved his way up to waiting on tables, and eventually ended up in the kitchen as a line prep sous chef learning how to cook under some very notable chefs.

Another passion of Joseph’s was music. He took guitar and piano lessons, and of course… loved his Elvis Presley music. He even performed Can’t Help Falling in Love at the Arizona State Fair sounding just like Elvis and received a standing ovation.

Joseph also loved to draw and paint and he was also published…a poem he wrote to his wife.

Joseph is survived by his daughter Sonya (Gina) Barrey, son-in-law Frank Barrey, granddaughter Arica Peña, grandson-in-law Daniel Peña, and Great Grandchildren Derek Peña, Madison Peña, and Jordynn Barrey.
