With heavy hearts and grateful memories, we celebrate the life of our beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, Kenneth “Cheto” Castaneda, who peacefully entered eternal rest on July 1, 2026, at the age of 53, welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus Christ.
To almost everyone who had the privilege of knowing him, he was simply Cheto.
Cheto lived a life marked by intelligence, remarkable creativity, quiet generosity, and an unwavering love for his family. He had an infectious sense of humor and was always joking and making people laugh, bringing joy and lightheartedness to those around him. While his passing leaves an immeasurable void, the memories he created, the laughter he shared, and the lives he touched will continue to inspire everyone who knew him.
Cheto had an incredible mind and a lifelong love of learning. He earned a degree in Horticulture and was a proud member of Mensa, the high-IQ society. Although he possessed an exceptional intellect, he never made others feel less than. Instead, he used his knowledge to teach, encourage, and help those around him.
Cheto was a skilled electrician who earned the respect of coworkers, friends, and customers through his craftsmanship, integrity, and strong work ethic. He was also the kind of person who could fix just about anything he could get his hands on and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Outside of work, Cheto was an exceptionally talented artist who loved creating sketches, portraits, and tattoo designs. His creativity and attention to detail were reflected in everything he made, and art was one of the many ways he expressed who he was.
What truly defined Cheto, however, was his generous heart. He found joy in helping others, especially those in need. Many of his acts of kindness were done quietly, never seeking recognition, because serving others simply came naturally to him.
Cheto also had a special love for animals, especially his faithful companion, Bailey. Bailey wasn’t just a dog, he was his loyal road dog. If you were looking for Cheto, there was a good chance Bailey was right there beside him, eagerly waiting for their next car ride, especially if it meant a trip to Home Depot. Their bond reflected the loyalty, companionship, and unconditional love that Cheto shared so freely with those around him.
Above all else, Cheto loved his family.
He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Melissa Madueño Castaneda; his beloved children, Paige, Junior, Broc, and Blake; his mother, Barbara; his stepmother, Sheri; his siblings, Melissa, Antonio, Hondo, Drea, and Aurora; two cherished nieces; many beloved nephews; extended family members; and countless friends whose lives were forever enriched by knowing him.
Cheto’s faith in Jesus Christ gave him strength and hope. Two passages of Scripture that were especially meaningful to him were:
“Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world.”
— 1 John 4:4
and
“Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.”
— 1 Corinthians 13:13
“A brilliant mind may earn admiration, but it is a generous heart that leaves an eternal legacy.”
Cheto’s greatest accomplishments were never measured by titles or achievements, but by the countless lives he touched through his kindness, his generosity, and the love he shared so freely.
Cheto will be remembered for his contagious laugh, quick wit, artistic gifts, generous spirit, and the unconditional love he gave so freely to his family and friends. His life was a reminder that true greatness is found not only in what we achieve, but in how we love and serve others.
While we miss him deeply, we find comfort in God’s promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. We rejoice in knowing that Cheto is now at peace in the presence of Jesus Christ, and we hold tightly to the hope that this farewell is only temporary. We look forward to the day when we will see him again.
Forever loved.
Forever missed.
Forever in our hearts.
Until we meet again.
