The Rev. Leroy Albo entered Glory at his home in Glendale on Sunday, June 17, 2018. Leroy was born and raised in Globe, Arizona. He was predeceased by his parents, Joe and Mary Albo, and his younger brother Raymond Albo. He is survived by his brother, Joe Albo, sisters, Linda Ruiz and Beverly Castillo, several cousins, nieces, nephews and his church family.
He was ordained into the ministry of the Church of the Nazarene after attending the Nazarene Seminary School in San Antonio, Texas. Beginning in the mid-1960s, he pastored churches in Chandler and Phoenix before retiring from the active ministry in 2017. In the early years of his ministry, he was involved in missionary work among the Navajo people in northeastern Arizona and colonias in northern Mexico. Later, Leroy was active in Valley area civil rights and other civic affairs. Throughout his life he most enjoyed serving Christ by serving those in need wherever he encountered them.
Leroy Albo’s funeral and burial will be Saturday, June 23rd at the Rest Haven/Carr- Tenney Mortuary and Cemetery at 10 a.m.
