Lucy Tarango, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 9, 2026. Born on May 14, 1940, in the quaint town of Reserve, New Mexico, Lucy lived a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to her family and friends.

Lucy was the beloved daughter of Ramon Torrez and Lola Barreraz, who predeceased her. She was also preceded in death by her devoted husband, Edward Tarango, her brothers Jesus and Ramon Torrez Jr., and her sister Rosanna Abalos.

She is survived by her children, Nick Redondo, Carol Redondo, Sally Villaverde and her husband David, and Veronica Hood and her husband Charles. Lucy's legacy continues through her 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.

For 30 years, Lucy dedicated herself to her work at Motorola in the manufacturing sector. Upon retirement, she embraced her passions wholeheartedly, relishing in her time spent traveling, dancing, and creating cherished memories with her family. Known for her culinary talents, she delighted in preparing everyone's favorite meals and was the ever-reliable chauffeur for her grandchildren's many adventures.

Lucy's happiness shone brightest when she was surrounded by loved ones, with good food, lively music, and, most importantly, dancing. She was the heart of every family celebration, ensuring that love and joy were always at the forefront. Her legacy is one of fun, friendship, and kindness, qualities that she instilled in her children and grandchildren.

A woman of extraordinary warmth, Lucy loved nothing more than staying connected with her family and friends. Her kind-hearted nature left a lasting impression on everyone she met, and her loving messages to her grandchildren will be dearly missed.

A service to honor Lucy's life will be held on October 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Resthaven / Carr-Tenney Mortuary, located at 4310 East Southern Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85042. Family and friends are invited to celebrate the beautiful life and legacy she leaves behind.
