She moved to Arizona with her family in 1956 and settled in the Chandler area. She and her first husband Bonifacio raised their family on the various farms in the Chandler area. She enjoyed the country life and raising her growing family. She worked as a homemaker within the home. She also worked for various people as their housekeeper.
After Bonifacio died, she later met Cruz G. Lopez and they were married on December 7, 1973. He provided her with loving support throughout her life. Because of her love of people, honesty and ability to speak Spanish fluently, she worked alongside her husband in caring for his employees’ banking needs and paperwork.
She loved being outdoors enjoying creation. While enjoying the beauty of the earth she often asked herself “Why are we here?” Or “Why did God make all these beautiful things for us to enjoy?” In 1958 she began to have her questions answered. She accepted an offer for a personal Bible study from Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was so happy to read in her copy of the Bible that God’s name is Jehovah. After that, her passion was to share these Bible truths with others. She devoted many hours each month for almost ten years before her health began to fail. She wanted all to come to know and worship Jehovah God. Her strong faith in God’s promise of a resurrection to a paradise earth helped her to have peace in her heart. Her only wish was that we would all take the time to come to know and worship Jehovah God, so that we will be in Paradise to welcome her back when Jehovah “wakes her up” from the sleep of death.
She is survived by her husband Cruz G. Lopez. Children: Bonnie Bustamante, Patsy (Larry) Willis, Isabel (Ben) Carborloc, Shirley (Marco) Leyva, Bonifacio (Maria) Bustamante Jr., Christopher (Emily) Lopez, and Diane Lopez; 20 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; Five sisters: Catherine, Rosa Chavez, Carmen Andrade, Helena Frare and Theresa Moreno and one brother, Reymundo Chavez.
