We are gathered, today, to honor the memory and celebrate the life of Patricia Lee Austin. Tricia was born on December 3, 1969, in Phoenix, Arizona, and made her eternal transition to her Heavenly home on September 7, 2014, after her lifetime battle with illnesses and many surgeries.
Tricia is survived by her Mother and Father, Steve and Lynn Austin, and her Auntie Lee Holiday, her “second mother”. Also included is her extended family of Sara Greer, Travis and McKenzi Saunders. Tricia loved, and was loved by, each of her Uncles and Aunts: Omar and Hazel, Larry and Penny, Bob and Ruthann, Dorothy, and Tim and Karen from the Austin relatives and, also, by Robert and Kay Frederick, Frank Holiday, Judy Whitney Marie and Lisa Rose. Tricia, also, is survived by a host of cousins whom she loved and with whom she had a special relationship, individually.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Omar and Dorothy Austin, step Grandmother Mary Ball Austin and Nathaniel and Mildred Frederick, and Uncle Thomas Frederick and Aunt Rosemary Austin.
Tricia graduated high school in 1987 from Coconino High School in Flagstaff, Arizona, and attended Kansas City College and Bible School from 1987-1989 where she studied Childhood Development. She loved working as a preschool and Sunday school teacher. Tricia, also, earned her CNA and worked in the medical field as long as her health allowed.
Throughout her life, Tricia dearly loved and received love and care from each of her Pastors and church family, including her “adopted” sisters April Maddox, Sheri Bryan and Pam Rigg.
We will miss her and, as we promised, we’ll meet her again in Heaven.
