Raul Velasco Ortega, aged 81, passed away May 16th 2022. Born in Quitovac, Sonora, Mexico on September 26th 1940, Raul (tata) is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Maria Rivera Ortega, daughter Sylvia Arvizu (Andrew Arvizu), son Raul Ortega Jr. ( Lorena Ortega), brother Ramon Velasco, 8 grandkids, 6 great grandkids, and countless nieces and nephews.
Raul and his wife Maria moved to Arizona and in 1977 settled down in their lifelong home of Phoenix, Az. Known as Don Raul, he had a passion for agriculture and worked as a farm laborer the majority of his career. His best days were spent with his wife and friends working in the fields or in his backyard where he enjoyed growing his own fruits and vegtables. Raul was a hard working, sweet, kind-hearted man who loved everyone, especially his family where he always greeted them with his big smile and a wave.
