Rodney Maurice Moore was born on October 16, 1968 in Washington, DC to Samuel Moore and Jean Bankett. During his life he graduated from Roosevelt High School, Livingston College and spent 9 years in the United States Army. Following his tenure in the US Army, Rodney’s career continued as a civilian working as a DC Correctional Officer and eventually transitioned to a career in facilities management at St. Vincent de Paul in Phoenix, Arizona.
Rodney was a sincere, fun-loving man with a heart of gold. Most people would describe Rodney as having a great sense of humor with a light-hearted spirit. He loved his family, his job and his hometown football team the Washington Redskins. Rodney was called home to be with the lord on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 3:00am. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Michelle, mother Jean, mother-in-law Celia, 3 adult children Sharondrika, Gabby, and Rodney Jr., a step-daughter Jasmine and 6 grand children. Along with a host of family and friends.
