Bro. Solomon McKinley Walker was born on July 1, 1985 to Pres. Elder Roy Lee Walker, and Mtr. Helen Jean Walker. He was the youngest, the baby of the family of six children. Solomon was raised up in church, the Supreme Council of the House of Jacob. He participated in Jacob’s Band, Young Missionaries, played the guitar and on occasions other instruments. Solomon was blessed to be able to sing at an Anniversary’s Day service and at Summer Camp, where he also was blessed to be able to meet the leader, Father J. Daniel Israel J.O.G. who personally requested him to sing.
Solomon was a unique person; he loved life, family and people in general. He never met a stranger. He also loved playing instruments and being quite a character, he gave his best with every performance. I can’t say that Solomon wouldn’t want you to be sad today because he always wanted his props. But he would have wanted you to walk away today remembering that you once knew a star that sparkled. Solomon was never one to hold his head down or sit on the back row. He was always excited for the other person, because he was always looking deep into the person to see if there was any little spark of uniqueness, whether it was in the way they dressed, walked or simply styled their hair.
Solomon departed the rigors and hardships of his life on July 27th after a brief illness. He leaves to remember him always: his loving mother, Mother Helen Walker, his “pop” Pres. Elder Roy Lee Walker. Two brothers, Mr. Eric Cobb of Douglas, Arizona, Timotheus Walker of Phoenix, Az. Three sister: Ms. Jameeka Walker of phoenix, AZ, Eldrs. Precious Ames (Bro. Andrew Ames) of St Louis, MO and St. Veronica Walker of Phoenix, AZ; four nephews: Aaron Kimble, Desmond Dawson, Timotheus Walker Jr., Malachi Walker and three nieces: Estella Dawson, Arianna Walker, Vaya James and three great nephews and one great niece and his fiancé St. Sha Tina Perry all of Phoenix, Arizona and a host of relatives and numerous friends and acquaintances.
