Sydney Manhertz was born in Jamaica on July 19, 1953, the third of four children. He was a proud graduate of Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona.
Sydney was blessed to call both Kingston, Jamaica, and Phoenix, Arizona, home. He lived a full and meaningful life, always cherishing the time he spent with his family and friends. Sydney had a warm spirit and a genuine love for those around him. He enjoyed life and created many wonderful memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Sydney leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Joan Manhertz; his children, Vaughn, Sydney Jr., Oznie, and Shari; his grandchildren, Shanell, Shawn, Josiah, Juan, Zyire, India, David, Faith, Grace, and Graco; and his siblings, Earl, Carlton, and Marlene.
Sydney will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on through the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the family he leaves behind.
Visitation will be held at Phoenix South Mountain Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 200 W Southern Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85041, US, on September 1, 2026, from 8:00 am to 10:00 am, followed by the Funeral Service at the same location on September 1, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. There is a reception to follow at Phoenix South Mountain Seventh-Day Adventist Church after the service.
