Terry "TJ" Wayne Jordan Sr., age 63, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2020. "TJ" was born December 14, 1956 in Yuma, Arizona to Virgie Staggers and James Jordan (both preceded him in death). He is survived by his daughter Alexis Pursell of Prescott, Arizona and son TJ Jordan Jr. of Phoenix, Arizona. He leaves behind two brothers, Ricky, and Rodney Staggers and three beautiful grandchildren Hayden, Brielle and Paislee. He also leaves step sisters, step brothers, cousins, aunts, nieces and nephews. Along with both his mother and father, Terry is preceded in death by his stepfather, Duke Staggers and brother, Gary Jordan Sr.

Terry had an immense love for his family, friends and community. He dedicated his life to helping others and making people smile. Terry worked at Marcos De Niza High School for over 20 years helping to coach and mentor students. He was heavily involved in the sports program, coaching both basketball and football. Terry also served as a detention officer and had a passion for helping at risk youth through coaching. He had a way of connecting with his students showing compassion mixed with tough love. Terry had a famous quote known by every student and athlete... " Coach J don't play!" Terry enjoyed sharing his love and knowledge of sports. He worked for many years at the Boys and Girls Clubs coaching basketball. He also worked with several sports programs throughout the community including the Phoenix Suns and Arizona State University basketball camps. Although he loved the game of basketball, he also thoroughly enjoyed football, and played during college for Glendale Community College. Aside for his love for sports, Terry loved dancing and performing. He worked for many years as a Rick James and James Brown impersonator, always bringing lots of joy and smiles to the crowd. On his off time, you could always find Terry at a lake fishing, cooking or spending time with his family. Terry was a man of God and his faith in Jesus Christ was important to him. He attended church regularly and often volunteered in his congregation. Even in the hardest times, Terry's faith would not waiver, always speaking of what the Lord had blessed him with.

Terry was loved by so many people and will be missed by all.
